As a chapter leader, you have been provided with a role-specific email address hosted by ASSP. These email addresses follow the format [role]@[chapter].assp.org (for example, president@longbeach.assp.org) and are intended to be used for official chapter communications.
Your email account is hosted through InMotion Hosting and is accessible via RoundCube Webmail — a full-featured, browser-based email client you can use from any device without installing any additional software.
This section covers everything you need to know to manage your chapter email effectively:
- Accessing Your Email — How to log in to webmail from any browser
- Composing & Reading Email — Sending, replying, and managing messages
- Organizing Your Inbox — Creating folders and setting up automatic filter rules
- Setting Up an Email Signature — Adding your name, title, and chapter info
- Auto-Responder (Out of Office) — Automating replies when you are unavailable
- Spam & Junk Mail — Keeping unwanted email out of your inbox
- Adding Your Email to a Device — Connecting your account to Outlook, iPhone, Android, or other mail apps
- Forwarding Your Email — Automatically sending messages to another inbox
Using a Desktop Email Client
While RoundCube works in any browser, you may prefer to manage your chapter email through a dedicated desktop application — especially if you already use one for personal or work email. Outlook is a popular one. Apple’s Mail is as well. These instructions work with your preferred client. No need to use a specific one.
Mozilla Thunderbird is a free, open-source desktop email client that works on Windows, Mac, and Linux. It supports IMAP, so your email stays synced between Thunderbird and webmail. It also supports multiple accounts, making it easy to keep your chapter email separate from your personal inbox in one place.
To connect Thunderbird to your chapter email, refer to the Adding Your Email to a Device page in this section for the required server settings.
Note: Your email login credentials (username and password) are provided by ASSP. If you have not received them or need a reset, contact your chapter administrator or open a support request via ASSP’s Chapter Web Support.
