Instead of publishing a news post immediately, you can schedule it to go live at a specific date and time.
Steps
1. Open the Post
Create a new post or open an existing draft via Posts → All Posts.
2. Open the Summary Panel
In the right sidebar, locate the Summary panel. Click the Publish date link (it will show “Immediately” by default).
3. Set a Date and Time
Use the date and time fields to choose when the post should publish. The site operates on the timezone configured in Settings → General.
4. Schedule the Post
Click Schedule in the top-right corner (the button changes from “Publish” once a future date is set). The post will go live automatically at the time you selected.
To Reschedule or Cancel
Open the post, change the date/time in the Summary panel, and click Schedule again to update. To cancel scheduling entirely, change the status to Draft and save.
Tip: Scheduling is useful for announcements with a specific release date, such as board election results or registration openings.
