Job listings can be scheduled to publish at a future date and time, which is useful when you want a posting to go live at a specific moment — such as the start of a hiring window.
Schedule a Listing to Publish Later
1. Open the Post
Create a new post or open an existing draft via Posts → All Posts.
2. Open the Summary Panel
In the right sidebar, locate the Summary panel. Click the Publish date link (shown as “Immediately” by default).
3. Set a Date and Time
Use the date and time fields to select when the listing should go live. The site uses the timezone set under Settings → General.
4. Schedule the Post
Click Schedule in the top-right corner (the button changes from “Publish” once a future date is set). The listing will publish automatically at the selected time.
Set an Expiration Date
To prevent listings from going stale, you can schedule a job post to unpublish automatically by switching its status to Draft on a future date. WordPress does not have a native post expiration feature, but your chapter site may have this capability depending on installed plugins. If you’re unsure, contact your chapter’s website administrator or submit a request via the Support portal.
To Reschedule or Cancel
Open the post, update the date and time in the Summary panel, and click Schedule again to save the change. To cancel scheduling entirely, set the status to Draft and save.
Tip: For time-sensitive listings, scheduling ensures the post goes live at exactly the right moment without requiring you to be logged in at that time.
