You can add your chapter email to any email app — such as Apple Mail, Outlook, Gmail (as an added account), or Android Mail — so you can send and receive messages without logging into webmail each time.
Recommended Settings (Secure SSL/TLS)
Use these settings when adding your account to any mail app. Replace [chapter] with your chapter’s subdomain (e.g., longbeach).
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Username | Your full email address (e.g., president@longbeach.assp.org) |
| Password | Your email account password |
| Incoming Server (IMAP) | [chapter].assp.org |
| IMAP Port | 993 (SSL/TLS) |
| Outgoing Server (SMTP) | [chapter].assp.org |
| SMTP Port | 465 (SSL/TLS) |
| Authentication | Required for both incoming and outgoing |
IMAP vs. POP3: IMAP is strongly recommended. It keeps your email synced across all devices and on the server. POP3 downloads messages to a single device and removes them from the server.
Calendar & Contacts Sync (CalDAV / CardDAV)
If your email app or device supports CalDAV (calendar) and CardDAV (contacts), you can also sync your webmail calendar and contact list.
Secure (Recommended):
Setting Values
Server https://[chapter].assp.org:2080 Port 2080
Calendar URL https://[chapter].assp.org:2080/calendars/[your-email]/calendar
Contacts URL https://[chapter].assp.org:2080/addressbooks/[your-email]/addressbook
Replace [your-email] with your full email address (e.g., president@longbeach.assp.org).
Setting Up on Specific Devices
Most email apps will auto-detect your server settings if you simply enter your email address and password. If prompted to choose a setup type, select IMAP.
If auto-detection fails, use the manual settings above. For device-specific steps, refer to your email app’s help documentation or search for “[app name] IMAP setup.”
