You can edit an event at any time — whether it’s still upcoming, already published, or you need to make a correction after registration has opened.
Steps
1. Go to Event Espresso → Events
From your WordPress dashboard, hover over Event Espresso in the left sidebar and click Events.
2. Find the Event
Locate the event in the list. You can search by name or sort by date. Hover over the event name and click Edit to open it in the event editor.
3. Make Your Changes
Update any fields as needed — title, description, datetime, venue, ticket quantity, ticket pricing, registration questions, or featured image.
4. Save
Click Update in the top-right corner. Changes take effect immediately on the live event page.
Important: If you change the event datetime after registrations have been received, consider sending a notification to registered attendees. Event Espresso does not automatically notify attendees of event detail changes — see Sending Chapter Event Emails for how to do this manually.
Cancelling an Event
If an event needs to be cancelled, open the event editor and locate the Event Status field in the right sidebar. Change the status to Cancelled. This updates the event page on the front end and prevents new registrations. You will still need to notify existing registrants manually.
