Assigning categories to downloads keeps the chapter’s file library organized and makes it easier for members to find what they need. You can also display all downloads from a specific category on a page using a shortcode.
Assigning a Category to a Download
1. Open the Download
Go to Downloads → All Downloads and click the title of the download you want to categorize, or create a new one.
2. Locate the Download Categories Panel
In the right sidebar, find the Download Categories panel.
3. Select a Category
Check the box next to the appropriate category. You can assign more than one category if relevant.
4. Save
Click Update (or Publish for new downloads) to save the category assignment.
Creating a New Category
If the right category doesn’t exist yet:
- In the Download Categories panel, click Add New Category.
- Type the category name (e.g., Meeting Minutes, Bylaws, Presentations).
- Click Add New Category to save it. It will now be available for all downloads.
You can also manage categories directly by going to Downloads → Categories in the left sidebar.
Tip: Using consistent category names across your chapter’s downloads makes it much easier to display filtered file lists on specific pages — for example, a dedicated Meeting Minutes page that automatically shows only those files.
