Removing a download takes it out of the downloads list and breaks any existing links or shortcodes pointing to it. Make sure the file is no longer needed or linked anywhere on your chapter site before deleting.
Steps
1. Go to Downloads → All Downloads
From your WordPress dashboard, hover over Downloads in the left sidebar and click All Downloads.
2. Find the Download
Locate the entry you want to remove. Filter by category if needed.
3. Move to Trash
Hover over the download title and click Trash. The entry is removed from the list immediately and any shortcodes or blocks referencing it will stop displaying a download link.
To Permanently Delete or Restore
Click the Trash filter link at the top of the All Downloads list. From there you can Restore the entry or click Delete Permanently to remove it for good.
Warning: Permanently deleting a download also removes its tracking history (download counts and logs). If you only want to temporarily hide a file, consider setting it back to Draft status instead.
