Officer photos, names, titles, and credentials are pulled automatically from the ASSP membership database via an API — so updating a headshot happens at the individual officer level, not on the chapter website itself. This means each officer manages their own profile, and the chapter site stays in sync without anyone editing pages directly.
How the Sync Works
ASSP's API automatically populates the Officer pages on chapter and region sites using the leadership information on file with Chapter Services (chapterservices@assp.org). Changes appear on your chapter site within 24–48 hours of being entered in the ASSP database, or at the start of the new officer year on July 1.
Uploading a Photo
Each officer uploads their own photo through their ASSP member profile:
- Sign in at assp.org
- Go to My Account → Edit Profile
- Hover over the placeholder icon and click to upload
Photo Requirements
- File format: .jpg, .gif, or .png
- Maximum size: 2 MB
- Recommended dimensions: at least 200 × 200 pixels
If a photo needs to be resized or cropped, free tools like Photopea work well in the browser. Microsoft Paint and Adobe Photoshop are also fine for basic edits.
LinkedIn and Credentials
While in Edit Profile, officers are encouraged to:
- Add their LinkedIn URL (including the
https:// prefix) — a LinkedIn icon will appear next to their listing, linked to their profile.
- Add or update professional credentials on the Education & Credentials page of their profile.
What Appears on the Chapter Site
Once everything is in place, each officer's listing on the Executive Committee page will display:
- Headshot
- Title
- Name
- Credentials
- LinkedIn icon (if a URL was provided)
If no photo is uploaded, an ASSP placeholder icon appears in its place until the officer adds one.
Troubleshooting
If an officer's photo or information still hasn't updated after 48 hours, confirm with Chapter Services (chapterservices@assp.org) that the leadership roster on file is current. Chapter webmasters cannot override the API-synced content from the WordPress side.
